History of HAMCON
For those who are new to Amateur Radio, or those who have never attended one of our ARRL conventions, the following is a brief description of what goes on. The convention is a great place to meet all kinds of Hams, and maybe the ones you have talked to on the air. Meeting new friends, and getting together with old friends. Hams from all over Southern California and Arizona were there, and may by a few from outside of the US. Ham radio manufacturers, Dealers were displaying and selling their latest radio equipment and accessories, including all kinds of Antennas. Throughout the weekend there will be technical talks covering just about any aspect of Ham radio that may interest you. We get experts in many fields to present these sessions. The W1AW will have their radio station set up on the air at the Convention. If you decide to make some contacts using the W1AW/6 from their radios, you will receive a nice operating Certificate for having done so. There will be a luncheon and a Banquet Dinner on Saturday evening, and a breakfast on Sunday morning. Each of these functions will have a guest speaker. All three of the food functions are at an additional fee, with limited seating, so get your reservations in early. On this website you will find a registration form and other information regarding the convention. Do not forget to check back on this site as we will be adding new information regarding the convention.
We hope to see you at the next HAMCON in 2011 |
