Dr.Scott Stolnitz – N6ABC

Was the 2004 recipient of the Maritime Order of the Golden Key award for recognition in providing outstanding service in yachting communications by the Southern California Yacht Club. Scott is also 1 of 82 Winlink PMBO's (participating mail box office) in the world and the California Yacht Club's Station (K6CYC) is 1 of 5 Winlink stations in California.

Biography: Scott Stolnitz (N6ABC), has been involved in Amateur radio since 1967 when he first dreamed of using voice communication while sailing long distances on a small boat across the oceans. In 1976-1977 he sailed from Los Angeles to Hawaii, Tahiti and back. In 1996 Scott upgraded to Amateur Extra class in preparation for another sail across the Pacific. In 2004, Scott along with other members of the California Yacht Club, created Club Radio Station K6CYC. This Winlink station provides communication services to all Amateurs now using HF Email around the World. Scott is current co-chair of the California Yacht Club, (Radio Amateur Group (RAG). He and his wife Cindy will be leaving for an extended long distance voyage at the end of this year and anticipate remaining active users of the Winlink Radio System.

- Tom Tcimpidis - K6TGT

Biography: Tom Tcimpidis (K6TGT) has had an interest in radio and everything engineering from a very early age. At 14 he received his First Class Radio Telephone License with Radar Endorsement. He has been involved in building both FM and TV stations and now specializes in High Definition video engineering for the television and film production industry. He has been an avid boater since the age of 6 and maintains a power boat in MDR. Tom is active in Emergency Preparedness and is a CERT Level 3, MARS, ARES, and Coast Guard Auxilary member, as well as being a private pilot. He will be taking over as sysop of the California Yacht Club Winlink station (K6CYC) upon Scott Stolnitz departure in September. His wife Linda (W6LWT) also participates in these activities and is a Crisis Response Team member for the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office.
